What mystery fruit I think works best when feeding dubia roaches!

Often I ponder what else works when feeding dubia, or I ask myself, “ If money weren’t an object, what is the best fruit I could feed my dubia colonies to watch them thrive?”

I have narrowed this down to two items, one fruit and one vegetable.

Feeding strawberries to dubia roaches

Strawberries in my eyes are like a super fruit! Strawberries possess a multitude of vitamins such as vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants; great for humans and roaches too! I personally love strawberries and enjoy eating a nice handful as often as possible. Feeding these to roaches I assume would have the same effect. Whenever I drop a few in each bin, the roaches swarm them and within minutes, the strawberries are gone.

Are beets good for dubia roaches?

Another super food I have found possess superior quality is beets. This red root vegetable contains Manganese, vitamin C, vitamin A, folate, potassium and much more. Adding these vitamins to the mix of food from time to time may be an awesome addition of nutrients that will soon pass on to your bearded dragon, gecko, or other animals that you feed.

What I find so interesting about this is that both strawberries and beets are red in color, shaped like a heart and help prevent cancer. What can go wrong feeding them to dubia roaches?  Let me know in the comments if you have tried either of these. What else have you tried that has worked wonders on your colony?
